Next week The Pyjama House is off down to Lillibrooke Manor near Maidenhead for a “Ladies Lunch and Shopping Extravaganza”. We will be one of a number of stalls selling lovely things to lovely ladies who, extremely generously, have bought a ticket for lunch, shopping, and doubtless lots of chat too. The result of the day will be a healthy sum of money raised for the the Chiltern Centre which supports disabled children and adults.
The unsung heroes (or heroines) on the charity fund raising committees who arrange these sort of events will be responsible for a vast array of administration. Aside from cooking something delicious for everyone to eat, they will have secured sponsorship, arranged for wine and food to be donated, secured the venue, organised the stall holders (a thankless task!), sold tickets AND, in this modern age have become social media experts overnight – setting up Event pages on Facebook, Twitter posts, and more often than not a web page too. So in advance of this event, and the many others that follow this Summer and Autumn and on behalf of all of us stallholders, thank you ladies!
