A great time selling at The Great Yorkshire Show

Every year The Pyjama House relocates for 3 days to The Great Yorkshire Show at Harrogate.  Sometimes I need wellies, but not this year as the weather was kind and we had lots of sunshine.  What I do need is an alarm clock as the Country Living stand opens at 7.30am .. and doesn’t shut until 7.30pm.. long days and very early starts to beat the traffic!

Early in the morning is the best time  to take a wander round the cattle lines and visit the other animals as they wake up to a new day of petting and being fussed over.  I caught a couple of Highland’s just waking up and two Tamworth pigs playing with a football.  Lots of lovely proud farming families – some showing as young as 6 years old.

“Welcome to Yorkshire” was adjacent to my stand and children played on an artificial beach complete with these two donkeys and the York big wheel installed behind.

The best bit of all is meeting all my lovely customers.. some new, some regulars.  All were extremely complementary about the new colour range this summer and the most popular item, beside the sleep shorts which always go down well in the summer, were our lounge pants in the new spearmint check that arrived this April.  Happy days, but a lie in today after all those early starts was much appreciated!
